MSSC offers assessments for each of its four modules. Delivered online, each assessment contains about 75 multiple-choice and 20-30 computer simulation questions and takes about 75-90 minutes to complete. See the MSSC Assessment Brochure for additional information.
MSSC provides test scores as soon as the individual completes an assessment showing whether an individual met the “cut” scores for passing. This immediate feedback includes a diagnostic report for the individual showing how he or she scored on the 10-12 key work activities within that module. This information is intended for self-improvement and is provided to all test-takers whether they pass or not. An individual may take an assessment as many times as desired, but with a minimum of thirty days between assessments.
The MSSC assessments are all based upon the four critical work functions (“Modules”) for production, as defined by MSSC’s industry-led, nationally validated skill standards:
MSSC does not require individuals to take an MSSC course or any other course in order to take an assessment.
Note: MSSC Assessments are rigorous, with substantial training and/or experience required to meet the cut scores. For this reason, MSSC strongly encourages most individuals to take MSSC Courses (described above) prior to taking assessments. It should be noted, however, that the MSSC has no formal training or experiential requirements for individuals for MSSC assessments or certificates.
